Consistently ranked as one of the country’s fastest growing regions, it is no wonder why South Florida has experienced increasing demand for a support system for its globalized economy. Networking organizations such as Apex-Brasil facilitate strategic investment and trade opportunities between the United States and Brazil by strengthening government relations, promoting trade opportunities, and providing support to international trade fairs.
Also supporting the growing Florida-Brazil partnership are the local Miami Dade government offices, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida and the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami.
These entities, as well as private consulting firms such as The Beacon Council and Enterprise Florida, play a crucial role in strengthening Miami’s position as a center of international business. By connecting Florida and the United States to Brazil and Latin America, these organizations enable strategic partnerships between the two regions to spur innovation and to facilitate the sharing of ideas, knowledge, and resources.
Many of these organizations were able to share ideas and forge new Brazilian partnerships at the Miami-Dade County Business and Trade Development to Brazil, which was led by Miami-Dade Commissioner José “Pepe” Diaz in November 2014. The event was a success, with over 70 business-to-business meetings held, abundant positive feedback from participants, and plans to host a reciprocal trade mission in Miami already underway.
