A Valuable Resource for New Business in Miami-Dade
The Beacon Council of Miami-Dade is committed to upholding and building the county’s vibrant economy. “We have a carefully planned and action-oriented agenda aimed to advance our community’s objectives,” explained Beacon Council SVP of International Economic Development, Mario Sacasa.
The Beacon Council supports the creation of high-quality jobs in Miami-Dade in industries such as aviation, banking, creative design, hospitality, IT, life sciences, and logistics. Technology, in particular, is expanding rapidly. The Beacon Council played an integral role in the inaugural eMerge Americas Techweek. The conference, established to showcase Miami as the technology hub between North America and Latin America, attracted more than 6,000 attendees from 31 countries.
Once companies are able to quantify their initial investment, square footage needed, and potential jobs created from a move or expansion, the Beacon Council assists with services including customized research, access to finance programs, legal advice, and business contacts on a confidential basis.
We recently visited Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro conducting Business Seminars in both cities which allowed us to identify a good number of new prospect companies interested in learning about the advantages of doing business in Miami dade. Out of 120 current active projects, 12 are from Brazil.
The Beacon Council welcomes Brazilian business leaders to visit Miami to gain first-hand knowledge of the various developments that are taking place. With the majority of their projects coming from overseas and the diversity that exists in the area, Mr. Sacasa concluded, “We are already completely global.”
