Barry University: Committed to Core Values

Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Barry University experienced both significant growth and major changes over the past decades. Yet at its core, Barry remains a living-and-learning community, rooted in the values of diversity and life experiences.

Located just minutes from the dynamic city of Miami – the gateway to South America – Barry reflects the city’s broad diversity and limitless experiences and opportunities for international learners.

Today, Barry University offers more than 110 bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs from its 7 schools and 2 colleges, including the AACSB – International accredited Andreas School of Business, the School of Podiatric Medicine, 1 of only 9 in the country, and the School of Education which offers Florida’s only graduate degree in Montessori education.

Barry’s largest unit is its College of Arts and Sciences offering more than 40 degree programs across 10 academic departments.

Across all programs, Barry students gain hands-on experience, locally and internationally, as they prepare to advance their careers. Students in the STEM fields are presented with a number of unique research opportunities, including Barry’s annual STEM Research Symposium. Further research opportunities exist through partnerships and grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the US Department of Energy.

Barry is also a member of the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program, welcoming Brazilian STEM students to its diverse and engaged student body.

The Barry community includes almost 9,000 students from nearly all 50 states and 80 countries. International students on campus enjoy a wide variety of academic, athletic, and social experiences and Barry’s Office of International and Multicultural Programs (IMP) provides resources that further develop the international dimension of Barry University, such as its existing partnership with Brazil’s UNISUAM school.

In the years since it first opened its doors, Barry has grown to more than 17 locations throughout Florida, the Bahamas, and St. Croix. Though the university has undergone positive change and expansion, its key to success has remained its core commitments to knowledge, community, and service. These commitments continue to push Barry University into the future.
